Job Description:

Job Description: Scrum Master
Contract with Opportunity for Full-Time Conversion

About the Role

The Scrum Master is an entry- to mid-level Agile delivery role within the Project Management team. This position supports smaller, self-functioning technical teams—including Platform, QA Automation, and other software delivery teams—as they adopt and mature Agile practices. Working closely with the current scrum master and product owners, this role helps ensure smooth sprint execution, consistent ceremony facilitation, and adherence to Agile principles.

This is a growth-oriented role designed for someone early in their Scrum career who is eager to learn, contribute, and build strong Agile facilitation skills. The scrum master will receive mentorship from senior Agile leaders while progressively gaining autonomy across multiple scrum teams. This role plays a key part in strengthening team collaboration, improving delivery predictability, and contributing to the PMO/Lean Portfolio team’s evolving standards and best practices.

This is a contract-to-hire role, intended to start as a fixed-term contract with the expectation of conversion to a full-time position based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit. During the contract period, the Scrum Master will operate as a fully embedded member of the Project Management team, with access to mentorship, core ceremonies, and delivery ownership aligned to a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • Track and report on sprint health metrics, such as velocity and burndown, using Jira Dashboards.
  • Promote and update the team agreement to adhere to team standards.

Agile Practice Development

  • Model Scrum values and reinforce Agile principles with guidance from the current scrum master.
  • Observe and learn facilitation and coaching techniques from senior Agile leaders.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement sessions with assigned teams.
  • Contribute documentation to the growing PMO/lean portfolio agile knowledge base.

Collaboration & Cross-Team Alignment

  • Support coordination during release planning and feature handoffs.
  • Partner with product owners to ensure backlogs are refined and prioritized.
  • Work closely with the current scrum master and development teams to align on deliverables, timelines, and expectations.
  • Provide accurate sprint status updates and help maintain transparency across teams.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Learn to prepare lightweight sprint reports outlining velocity, burndown, carryover, capacity, impediments, and progress.
  • Support program-level reporting and dashboards by contributing aggregated team data through Jira Plans.
  • Learn to analyze trends (e.g., carryover rates, bottlenecks) and provide recommendations for improvement.

Professional Growth & Development

  • Increase level of autonomy each sprint cycle through hands-on learning.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
  • Actively participate in mentorship, feedback cycles, and Agile learning opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience as a scrum master working in a QA, platform, software, and/or technical team environment.
  • Foundational understanding of Agile methodology and scrum framework.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with Jira or similar work-tracking tools.
  • Problem-solving mindset with willingness to escalate risks early.
  • Collaborative working style with interest in supporting technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum Master with QA experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Agile ceremonies or hands-on participation in sprint processes.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, SSM, PSM I) or willingness to obtain.

About the Company

Launched in late 2021 to serve frontline workers, ARC was born out of the consumer-facing technology that phone charging provider ChargeItSpot brought to market in 2012. ARC is a device management solution integrated with smart lockers, designed to store, secure, and charge company-owned handheld devices (i.e., by Zebra, Honeywell, etc.) that frontline workers use to do their jobs and perform their core job functions (e.g., for package scanning, inventory lookup, task management, mobile point of sale, etc.).

Clients turn to ARC because they find that it is extremely difficult to manage and maintain their investment in enterprise mobile devices post purchase. There's a ton of waste from legacy, manual processes. Devices frequently go missing (25% annually), stop working, or run out of power – costing payroll time, money and productivity. ARC virtually eliminates these issues, ensuring that devices are functional, charged and not missing -- all while improving productivity and experience for ground teams.

Market demand for ARC has been overwhelming and the company has been growing rapidly. Device management has been a huge unmet need for decades with a problem space that is deceptively nuanced, complex and costly. ARC is uniquely positioned to solve these problems given its decade of relevant technical expertise with ChargeItSpot phone-charging lockers, our legacy mobile device product. ARC builds upon ChargeItSpot’s competencies and has carried over expertise like IP (protected by 8 patents and counting), deep technical know-how, and real-world experience gained while solving similar problems in a live field environment.

ARC’s Mission

Minimize Device Waste. Maximize Worker Productivity. Make Life Easier.

ARC’s Vision

Be the unrivaled leader in physical device management. With more than 25,000 ARC units deployed by 2030, ARC will simplify life for more than 1,000,000 workers every day.
